Zing Forest

The twisty metal pieces here are zing trees, made by Tom Nunn using brass rod. They’re mounted on resonating chambers which, for no good reason, have cow-like markings on them. The zing trees, struck with light-weight metal beaters, produce a blend of very high inharmonic frequencies. Covering and uncovering the air holes in the resonating chambers as the zing trees sound causes their resonances to shift, highlighting different frequencies within the blend.
